Going on record.

I'm not really into the Simpsons. This really surprises people because they figure I'm pretty smart and kinda snarky, so the Simpsons should be right up my alley. Can't say that it is.

I don't dislike the show. I'll watch it, I'll laugh. I even watched it when it was on the Tracey Ullman show. I just don't go crazy for it. If a Simpsons rerun and a "BBQ Around the World" special is on, I'm going to watch FoodTV and learn about St. Louis style ribs.

I can't pinpoint exactly why the Simpsons doesn't do it for me, but I suspect it's the sub-par animation. I can't dig on round yellow people. I understand great comics and great animation require abstraction, but the primary color schemes just turn me off.

...

Also, Curb Your Enthusiasm: it's funny and I'll watch it, but the most of the plots seem to be about one or more women cursing and getting mad at Larry. That gets old.

...

Our local TV journalist Tim Goodman chimes in about the Emmy noms. He mentions Arrested Development profusely, and even champions a Gilmore cast member. I like Tim Goodman a lot.

I have to agree with you, the simpsons don't do it for me either. My ex is a simpsons fanatic but I just find it ok. I am a huge Kevin Smith fan though. Pardon my rant...

By all means, agree with me. I, too, have a great platonic crush on Kevin Smith. I want to invite him over to my house and watch the Star Wars trilogy together.
