Guy posts that he cheated on his wife and sounds apologetic. Wife comments to post and other people's comments. I'm surprised at some of the critics that wonder why they would air their dirty laundry on the web, of all places. You might as well ask why one blogs at all.
I've done it myself for cathartic reasons, so I understand the impulse. This kind of thing makes you want to scream at the world and the public-ness aspect is important. So much had remained hidden, you want to have everything laid open, almost too much, like you're overcompensating.
In scarier news: Devirginize Marc. You know that part where he says "Maybe she's you"? I was immediately alarmed and began a silent chant of "NO! SHE'S NOT ME, SHE'S NOT ME!"
This guy needs a Fab Five makeover, pronto. And his Interests include "passionate love-making"? We know this to be false already! He may also be lying about SQL and Christmas lights!

I think the best part is where he says "make your case". That is the definition of self-confidence.
